I’m curious if there’s any astrology books that deal with the various sign combinations of ascendant/sun/moon signs. For example say,an taurus ascendant, aries sun and cancer moon description.I know there’s books on sun/moon combos, but I was wondering if there were any dealing with the three together.Or at least sun/ascendant and moon sign element(fire, earth, air or water). Thanks!

Why do people believe in this crap?

astrology behavior
hapahaole@ymail.com asked:

What makes you believe the alignment of certain planets affects human behavior? How do stars and galaxies millions of miles away determine my personality? Honestly, how can you put labels on people and categorize them based on nothing but their birth date? If this is a science (i’ve heard it referred to as such), why is astrology in the entertainment and music section and not the science section?
I thought people might get a little upset towards my question but I had no idea emotions would get to the point they did. I tried to hold back.

asdf, I gave your website a shot. I tried to do so with an opened mind. The results I got were vague at best and even became contradictory. I don’t see how I can be both “mistrustful” and at the same time “know how to trust”. Nor do I see how I have “an open and optimistic mind” while being a “pessimist.” I don’t know, maybe a different website will work better. Or maybe I should throw down some money and try the real thing.

A lot of you ask why I care. Usually I don’t. But yesterday I accidentally happened upon the horoscope section and I had enough. I couldn’t believe the number of people asking questions about their future and what they should do in life. Then I couldn’t believe they were actually getting serious answers.

Enough with the full moon and rise in crime, people like to see their surroundings when breaking the law.
aspicco, I don’t really see how my motives, unhealthy or not, affects the ultimate answer to the question i posed.

But I do agree with you that I have not fully investigated astrology to the point I would another subject. I did do a quick search of my daily horoscope and came up with varying results. But from what I’ve been reading, the 12 zodiac signs aren’t viable methods compared to the more detailed and elaborate means of introspection.

I just don’t see what the purpose of it is. What reason is there for telling people what is going on in their life? What purpose is served by telling them they are outgoing, open minded and slow to trust? Shouldn’t people already know who they are? Does you telling them these things change anything?

For the record, I believe inquiry and discussion into any subject is healthy. I am an equal opportunity examiner, I ask “why” about all subjects, not just astrology. So unless you are afraid of the answer why get mad at the question?
I believe I do have an opened mind, but I also try to remember this quote from American physicist Richard Feynman: “Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out.”

Dan P asked:

So, I’ve been reading horoscopes and stuff lately and I’m really surprised about how much my horoscopes pertain to me. I’m also a realist person and have always believed in science and logical explanations, but there is none when it comes to astrology……How do you feel when it comes to zodiac signs, partner compatibility, and horoscopes?

snakker2k asked:

No answers on whether or not it works, how does it supposably “predict” things? According to some “specialists” it is a very objective “science”. I don’t really see any obvious reason to call anything that doesn’t follow the scientific method a “science”, but since they consider themselves scientists, I’ll post it here

Vitas 25 asked:

I am not into astrology, but many people here are convinced that astrological signs influence one’s personality. The question for you all is how does astrology reconcile with psycho-social theories? I believe that our personalities are formed through our DNA, environment, and upbringing. Also, how can you guys prove that astrological signs actually do influence one’s personality formation? Thanks.
